St John's Stoke Guildford

Small Groups – life at the heart of St Johns Stoke
The overall purpose of our Small groups is to help bring people into a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ.

We passionately believe that at the heart of any growing church is an effective small group programme that helps people to grow closer to Jesus Christ and know the love of God by giving opportunities to:

    1. Study the Bible
    2. Discuss issues
    3. Pray and worship together
    4. Develop lasting friendships within the body of Christ
    5. Train others to lead

Our vision is to have thriving Small Groups at St Johns Stoke where everyone can feel that they belong, can grow closer to Christ and feel cared for in the body of Christ. Why not come and get involved? It is good to belong.

Small Groups Central - a few times a year there is the opportunity for all the groups to get together socially, hear a guest speaker or enjoy a meal together. These evenings are great occasions for the whole church family.

Belonging to a Small Group at St. John's Stoke is a key way in which you can get involved in the church family, get to know others better, make friends and learn more about the Christian faith. Small Groups often have social evenings and events important for building community and growing together. Some of the groups have been involved in the Besom Project, offering a helping hand to people in the local community.

A lively discussion group following the principles of Alpha. Each evening begins with coffee and cakes, followed by discussion groups, usually following teaching from one of the Gospels. A great way to follow on from Alpha and think about how to live the Christian life.

Wednesday evenings 7.45pm

A group where we aim to support one another in our Christian journey, explore some of life’s difficult issues, and have plenty of fun?  We meet in Merrow Woods fortnightly, starting each meeting with a meal, then moving to a time of study and discussion.  Whether you consider yourself a Christian or not, whether you have just started coming to church or have been attending for ages, you are very welcome.  To find out more contact Jerry or Angela on 01483 569740 after 7pm any evening or at the weekend.

Crispin & Hannah

Thursday evenings, 7.30pm at the Keanies

An exciting group run by Hannah and Crispin Keanie for those in their 20s-30s. Going deeper in Bible study, prayer and worship; relaxed, informal and fun with regular social events.

Following the growth and success of the 20s/30s Group and the influx of new students at St John’s Stoke, we are starting a new Small Group in January and we need new members!
The new small group is going to be particularly for students and recent graduates and is going to be led by Rob, G and Matt. The style will be very similar to Hannah and Crispin’s 20s/30s group with an emphasis on great Bible teaching, prayer, getting together, fun and probably food!

Get in touch with Rob and G if you are interested in more information and they will invite you to the first meeting.
